Imagine a wedding venue unlike everything you’d ever seen! A location that’s all about music, creativity, and sustainability with that quintessential New Orleans style! Weddings at the Music Box Village are just perfect for couples looking for something funky, stylish, and artistic.
Originally founded as a pop-up in New Orleans City Park, it was created as an experiment with ‘musical architecture’. This whimsical interactive installation allows musicians and visitors alike to create music out of public artworks.
It’s now one of the most unique New Orleans wedding venues. The coolest thing is that their sound houses are made from recycled materials. It is a beautiful cultural mecca in New Orleans for events, concerts, and weddings. You can host both your ceremony and reception here and it’s mega convenient to access from the city.
Are you a couple that loves art and creativity looking for an outdoor wedding venue in New Orleans? Do you truly beat to your own drum and want your wedding venue to beat to the drum of the city’s vibrant and eclectic energy? If so, this might be the perfect wedding venue for you!
One of the coolest things about the Music Box Village is that it is a non-profit creative space. Which means choosing to have your wedding here means you are supporting local businesses, as well as local artists.
Weddings here feel like you’re becoming part of the Music Box family. My home is right around the corner from this amazing space and I’ve been a part of the Music Box Village from its opening days! Initially, I started out volunteering with them because I thought the space was so awesome and I wanted to see it succeed. Then I began photographing musical acts and events within the space. I know how community-oriented the venue is.
This location is suitable for an outdoor wedding in New Orleans. However, they also have an indoor warehouse space available, in case of rain. You can host up to 300 wedding guests here. Their wedding packages include an event coordinator, use of their incredible musical sculpture garden, the indoor warehouse, and a nice size – on site parking lot. Additionally, there are a number of gorgeous getting ready hotels and BnBs in the local neighborhood.
At The Music Box Village, it’s easy to add catering, tent hire, musicians, and entertainers. You can even add tarot readers, burlesque dancers, a live Karaoke band, or face painters to your event. Many couples choose to continue their evening with a second line parade to one of the many neighborhood bars. Within just a few blocks of the venue is an area we call the ‘Barmuda Triangle’. This is because five bars are within walking distance of each other. So I say bring on the unconventional and fun! I hope I have peaked your interest. If so, you can find more information about having a wedding here on their event page.
I have stayed involved with the Music Box Village for years and I’ve loved watching this space grow and thrive! When we get to photograph weddings at this badass venue it is always a huge highlight of our wedding season in New Orleans.
Couples absolutely love having their wedding portraits here. The fun steampunk nature is so different! Plus there are so many textures and landscapes. The venue also sits right next to the Mississippi River levee, where the sunsets are gorgeous, making it easy to create images that are totally one of a kind.
Imagine al fresco dining at long, communal tables, twinkling overhead lights, and the soulful sound of music beating through the air. The energy and authenticity of The Music Box Village always shines through on your wedding day and therefore your wedding photography. With our experience photographing here, we know what to expect and we absolutely love capturing all the magical details at this one of a kind wedding venue.
The Music Box Village is truly one of the most unique places to get married in New Orleans and dare I say, anywhere! I can’t recommend it highly enough! I’ve been fortunate enough to both volunteer and photograph here for years and I absolutely adore this venue.
